IndyLive mobile app now available for Android

Back in March 2015, Kevin Gibney floated the idea that we needed an IndyLive app as part of our strategy to bring more people to our livestreams. We needed some technical help, so the call went out.

Step forward, Dave Murchison of Jott Social Media who had been responsible for the Wings Over Scotland app launched on 15 March 2015. It has been a pleasure working with Dave to bring Kevin’s mobile app idea to fruition. You can get hold of our app for your android devices by clicking on the icon to the right or simply searching the Google Play Store for INDYLIVE.

So what can you do with the app?

The app gives you the easiest access to our full archive, showing first any currently live broadcasts and any featured events we have highlighted. You can search our archive and mark any favourite livestreams among your Saved Events for future reference. You can also show any Nearby Events which will list any upcoming livestreams taking place within 30 miles of your current location, should you wish to go along in person. All our blog articles are also available to view in the app. Notifications from the app will alert you when a new event has been scheduled, a livestream is about to go live or a new blog article has been published. The Archived Events screen currently lists the 30 most recent livestreams available to view and Upcoming Events shows what events we have coming soon. When you tap on the summary for any event, you’ll see the full details and if there are videos available you can tap the play icon (at the top) to view the selected livestream in your device’s browser or the Livestream app if configured to auto-launch with livestream.com URLs.
